Sea Green * Little Arrowhead Lace

I love this simple sea green ( in real life) scarf. The yarn is a gossamer Fleece Artist Blue Face Leicester. I only used a little of the 1000 yard skein, not even a third, I could have knit for miles! The scarf is as light as a feather, with subtle variation in color. I am unable to post the complete pattern just yet, due to bad blogger ju-ju. I'll give you the stitch pattern how about?

Little Arrowhead Lace: (worked over 7 sts)
Row 1:(RS) K1, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k1.
Rows 2 and 4:(WS) Purl.
Row 3: K2, yo, sl 2 kwise, k1, pass 2 slipped sts over,yo, k2.
Repeat Rows 1–4 for pattern.

Its fast and fun to work. Have at it!

Seagreen

The color of the week for A Year of Color is seagreen. Once my very favorite color, it has been eclipsed by darker richer olive hues. I still like it a lot and often notice it out in the world. I gave myself a photo assignment on my drive back from Montreal, to take snaps only of seagreen and never leave the drivers seat. My wee montage came out...well, wee...too wee, only I can't take the time to enlarge it, so get out your magnifying glasses! I also wanted to include the free pattern from an old Interweave Knits staff project of mine using Little Arrowhead Lace. It is really simple and quite gorgeous in real life! However, blogger hates me and won't let me do it from home. I'll see if I can't get it up later this week when I go into town. Till then!

Knitting Carnation

I know, I know...knitting. It's what I do the most but somehow on this blog I don't include it much. I have many excuses, work, classes, kids, dogs, crummy internet service, blogger, global warming...life in general. And some of my projects have to be Top Secret: to be revealed later. As with the yarn at left. I will tell you it is beautiful Louet Gems, sport weight. The color is Pink Panther, but I'm using it as Carnation in your favorite flickr group and mine, A Year of Color. This yarn is simply wonderful to knit with, even stitching helps but I'm hoping any irregularity will come out in the wash. There's a good range of colors which is probably my #1 criterion for yarn. I'm pleased with how it looks in my fair isle swatch. If all goes well you can see it in September!

I've also started a group, 52loaves, for anyone who's up for a baking challenge this year. I'll do a post just for that...soon...? I wonder if I'll have any takers. If someone suggested it to me I think I'd just groan and have a twinkie.

Tumbleweed Connection

I just love A Year of Color. Check the color crayon box, grab the camera and go!
I must say that Tumbleweed was and odd color. It took me a few days to even see it, then, bang!
It was everywhere.
