The Newest Member of My Family

Isn't she beautiful? She is a 1957 size 10, which makes her about a size 4 in today's world of sizes. Very pointy, 1957 was most definitely a year for molding and restraining undergarments.
I think her name is Betsy, but I'm not quite sure. She has a tattoo on her back that looks like B and P combined, + C....What do you think?

It's 1957.....Betsy, Penny,+ Carol?

I love it when the letters actually spell something!

That is so cool MJ! She is a bit pointy indeed. That is the way it was back then. I just recently watched the 1st season of Mad Men which is set in 1960 and it is so interesting to see all the fashions and styles of clothes and decor.

How about Betty?

Well, I'm leaning towards Betsy but maybe the C should be Craig, for Craig's List...where I found her Ms. Pagoda. The 3 really does show up in the picture doesn't it? I'll have to rent Mad Men...can I take it out for a week Kristin?
I used to serve Pink Patio's at every summer cocktail party....

The size discrepancy/time warp has me all confused. So women were more petite back then? I'm going to stop thinking about this.

I'd call her Mavis.

So I decided to search the popular names of 1957...Mary, Linda, Patricia, susan, /deborah, Barbara, Debra, Karen,, Mancy, donna, Cynthia, Sandra, Pamela, Sharon, Kathreen, Carol, Diane....But if she was all grown up in 1957, she would have been born in the '30's: Mary, Betty Barbara, Shirley, Patricia, Dorothy, Joan, Margaret, Nancy, Helen, Carol, Joyce, Doris....

Oh and while I do think women were smaller then, in the past 20 years, the size names have gotten smaller...supposed to be good psychology: women will buy more clothes if they think they wear a smaller size.
