Knitting Carnation

I know, I know...knitting. It's what I do the most but somehow on this blog I don't include it much. I have many excuses, work, classes, kids, dogs, crummy internet service, blogger, global warming...life in general. And some of my projects have to be Top Secret: to be revealed later. As with the yarn at left. I will tell you it is beautiful Louet Gems, sport weight. The color is Pink Panther, but I'm using it as Carnation in your favorite flickr group and mine, A Year of Color. This yarn is simply wonderful to knit with, even stitching helps but I'm hoping any irregularity will come out in the wash. There's a good range of colors which is probably my #1 criterion for yarn. I'm pleased with how it looks in my fair isle swatch. If all goes well you can see it in September!

I've also started a group, 52loaves, for anyone who's up for a baking challenge this year. I'll do a post just for that...soon...? I wonder if I'll have any takers. If someone suggested it to me I think I'd just groan and have a twinkie.

Gems is such a pretty yarn. I like to fondle it in the hank, caressing my cheek with it. Who really needs to wind it and knit with it? Hmmmm...52 would be a challenge for this gluten free gal, but I might be up for it. Although, with three weeks gone, I'm starting behind the gate already!

If you click on the cute little 52loaves button, you'll see there are plenty of built in cheats, for instance you could count a single pita as a loaf! I think flatbreads qualify as do quick breads. And you don't even have to post pictures if you don't want to. I didn't join a year of color till half way through.

I saw one of your Top Secret projects (Heilo fair isle sweater) to be appearing in the Spring Knits, I believe. Very pretty!

Hey Victoria! Wowee! I always like that the sweaters go "On Tour" like the Rolling Stones! So is TNNA Madison Square Gardens?

mmmm...pink...
I admire your baking dedication. With my recent track record of joining then shirking, I'm sad to say I think you're better off without me in the 52 loaves project.
Also - you've been tagged for the "6 weird things about me" meme. You just do a post mentioning 6 weird things about yourself that you haven't already blogged about, and then tag a couple more people. Unless you hate these sorts of things, in which case you should ignore it.
