oooh, lucky you, it's cherry blossom time. A small but nice museum is the Textile Museum http://www.textilemuseum.org/fsg/, it looks like Ottoman textiles are there now.
The gardens at Dumbarton Oaks will be spectacular now; also check out the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria and the Renwick after you've been to the Textile Museum. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, so you really won't go wrong. Have a great time!
I think the Smithsonian's American History museum has reopened after its remodel....they had a few nice textiles when last I visited (pre-remodel.....).
I also love the National Gallery of Art, myself....I'm an hour away in Annapolis

Check out Stitch DC. I went there a few years ago and it was delightful...
